Harleysville Memorial Day Parade

Saturday, May 23, 2009

The theme for Girl Scouts marching in the parade this year is:

Shooting Stars!

Todays Girl Scouts. Tomorrow’s Leaders.

Line up: Between 9:30 & 10:30 AM at Indian Valley Middle School (the parking lot on the south side of the school)

Parade: Begins at 11 AM, starts on Maple Ave and circles around and ends back at the Middle School

What to Wear: Girls are asked to wear red, white, or blue t-shirts (and of course their sash or vest and comfortable shoes.)

Troop activity for theme: Each troop will be given a large foam board star and a paint stirrer stick. Please decorate your star with your girls and attach the paint stirrer or a longer flat stick to the star. We can all wave our stars in the air while we march.

NOTE: Leaders – if you plan on marching in the parade, please email Amy Hammond with your contact info at aahammond@verizon.net. In the event of the parade being cancelled due to weather we will have a way to contact each troop to let you know. Also – Leaders will need to stay with your girls until they are picked up at the end of the parade.
